Crosner Legal Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Wholesome Story

Apr 4, 2025 | Class Actions, Consumer Protection

Crosner Legal has filed a class action lawsuit against Wholesome Story, LLC, alleging that the company engaged in deceptive advertising practices by misrepresenting the dosage amounts of its dietary supplement products. The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court, claims that Wholesome Story misleads consumers by prominently advertising a specific dosage amount per capsule on its product labels when, in reality, each capsule contains only a fraction of the advertised amount.

The complaint highlights that Wholesome Story’s product labels suggest that each vegetarian capsule contains a full dose of the advertised ingredient; such as “1000 mg” of spearmint, while also displaying the total number of capsules included in each bottle. Reasonable consumers rely on these representations when making purchasing decisions, believing they are getting the advertised dosage in a single capsule. However, the lawsuit alleges that the truth is far different: consumers must take two, three, or even four capsules to achieve the advertised dosage, effectively reducing the actual value of the product to a half, a third, or even a quarter of what was promised.

By allegedly misleading consumers in this manner, Wholesome Story has caused consumers to overpay for its products under false pretenses. Customers are led to believe they are purchasing a supplement that delivers a certain amount per capsule when, in fact, they are getting significantly less. This deceptive practice not only results in financial harm to consumers but also raises serious concerns about transparency and trust in the dietary supplement industry.

Consumer protection laws exist to prevent companies from engaging in deceptive marketing tactics. This lawsuit seeks to hold Wholesome Story accountable for its alleged misrepresentations, demanding restitution for affected consumers and an injunction to stop the company from continuing its misleading labeling practices.
