We are pleased to announce that the court has granted final approval of an $8 million settlement in a wage and hour class action lawsuit against Sutter Hospitals. The class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of non-exempt employees of Sutter Hospitals who claimed that the hospital system failed to properly compensate them for all hours worked. The plaintiffs alleged a variety of wage and hour violations, including the failure to provide required meal and rest breaks, unpaid overtime, and improper wage statements. This case involved years of litigation, with claims dating back as far as 2015.
This settlement will provide compensation to hundreds of current and former employees who were impacted by Sutter Hospitals’ practices. The settlement ensures that class members will receive meaningful compensation for the time they worked but were not properly paid for under California’s labor laws. We are proud to have played a role in ensuring that these workers are compensated fairly for their hard work and that their rights are protected moving forward.
