Crosner Legal Seeks Accountability for Hidden Contaminants in Prenatal Supplements

Nov 1, 2025 | Class Actions, Consumer Protection

Crosner Legal has filed a class action lawsuit in California state court against a supplement manufacturer, alleging that its prenatal multivitamins were deceptively marketed as “free from heavy metals” despite testing positive for unsafe levels of lead.

According to the complaint, the company promoted its prenatal supplements with statements such as “Third Party Testing,” “Integrity in all we do,” and “What’s on the label is what’s in your bottle,” giving consumers the impression that the products were carefully tested and free from toxic substances. However, independent laboratory testing revealed the presence of 186 parts per billion of lead in the supplements.

The lawsuit highlights that both the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization have determined that there is no safe level of lead exposure. Even low levels can harm neurological development, cardiovascular health, and kidney function. For pregnant individuals, lead exposure poses additional risks of miscarriage, premature birth, and long-term developmental harm to children.

The complaint brings claims under California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act and Unfair Competition Law, as well as for breach of implied warranties. It seeks restitution, damages, and injunctive relief to stop the company from continuing to market its prenatal products as free from contaminants when they are not.

Crosner Legal stresses that consumers rely heavily on truthful representations when purchasing prenatal supplements, which are taken during some of the most critical stages of pregnancy. By marketing products as safe while concealing the presence of lead, the company allegedly misled consumers and profited at the expense of families’ health.

If you purchased prenatal vitamins that were advertised as “free from heavy metals” but later discovered they contained lead or other contaminants, you may have legal rights. Contact Crosner Legal for a free and confidential case evaluation.
